Patrick hated doing homework. He found it boring. He was interested in playing games. He played, hockey, basketball and Nintendo. His teachers warned him that he must do homework. Otherwise he would remain an ignorant person. Sometimes, he really felt that he was so. But somehow, Patrick could not help it. One day Patrick found his cat playing with a little doll. He took the doll away. To his surprise, he found that the doll was, in fact, a little man. This man wore old-fashioned britches. His hat was tall like a witch’s. That little man cried, “Save me”. In return he promised to grant Patrick a wish. Patrick saved the little man. He was much pleased. He asked the little man to do all his homework till the end of the semester. That way he could get A’s. The little man didn’t like it, yet he agreed to do so. He began his work in right earnest. However, there was one difficulty. Very often, he needed Patrick’s help ir doing the homework properly. Sometimes, the elf would ask for a dictionary. He would request Patrick to look up a word and speak its spellings loudly. When it came to Math, it was even worse. The elf did not know much of it. So, Patrick had to sit beside him and guide him all the time. It was the same thing with History. Patrick had to go to the library, get the books and read them out to the elf. Then the elf would write those points in his homework answer-book. The tiny man was saved by Patrick. He was very happy. He requested that the small man complete all of his assignments by the conclusion of the term. So that he may receive As. The tiny man consented even though he didn't like it. He set to work with great earnestness. There was one problem, though. He frequently need Patrick's assistance to complete his assignments correctly. The elf would occasionally ask for a dictionary. He would ask Patrick to look up words and pronounce them aloud. It was worse when it came to math. The elf knew very little about it. Patrick was forced to sit next to him and provide him constant guidance. With History, it was the same tale.It was Patrick's responsibility to retrieve the books from the library and read them to the elf. The elf would then record those points in his answer book for homework. Patrick had a lot of work to do. At last, the last day of classes arrived, and the elf could finally leave. Of course, she'd finished her homework. Patrick received all As. His teachers grinned, and his classmates gasped. How their boy had turned into such a perfect child baffled his parents. Yes, Patrick really had adopted a whole different mindset. Patrick naturally believed that the elf had completed his assignment. In actuality, though, he was handling it alone the entire time.
