Question

A solid hemisphere of radius 3 cm is melted to form a cone of radius 3 cm. Find height of cone. (NCERT Class 10 – Important)

Answer: Volume conserved. Hemisphere volume = (2/3)πr³ = (2/3)π×27=18π. Cone volume=(1/3)πr²h=(1/3)π×9h=3πh. Set equal: 3πh=18π ⇒ h=6 cm.
