Differentiate between aerobic and anaerobic respiration. (NCERT Class 10 – Very Important)

Answer: Aerobic uses O₂, complete breakdown of glucose to CO₂+H₂O, high energy (~36–38 ATP), occurs in mitochondria. Anaerobic occurs without O₂, partial breakdown to lactic acid (muscle) or ethanol+CO₂ (yeast), low energy (~2 ATP), in cytoplasm.
